The joint account
One more account to open, fund and forget. Now every coffee, rideshare and 2 am impulse buy is on display.
Launching in the US · iPhone + Mac
PairPot is the virtual joint pot for couples. Keep your own banks, share the bills, skip the spreadsheet. Your personal stuff? Stays personal.
The problem
Plenty of couples run on a joint account, a tracker sheet and a little quiet resentment. PairPot replaces all three.
One more account to open, fund and forget. Now every coffee, rideshare and 2 am impulse buy is on display.
Someone’s “the finance one”. Someone forgets to log it. Then Sunday night: “wait, who paid for Tahoe?”
Sharing everything sounded romantic, right until you wanted to buy a surprise. Privacy isn’t a red flag.
How it works
Two streams of spending, one pot. Tangerine is one of you, Teal is the other, and the pot is where they meet.
Each of you connects your own accounts, or imports a statement, just the way you already bank. Read-only, with your consent. We never see your bank password.
Earn differently? Split 60/40, 55/45, whatever feels fair. We’ll even suggest one from your incomes. You both sign off with PairKey.
Every joint spend is auto-tagged, split by your ratio and tracked. At month end you see who owes who, and the surplus rolls into savings.
Features
Everything a shared life needs. Nothing it doesn’t.
No new bank account. No moving money around. You each keep your own banks and cards; PairPot keeps the shared ledger of who paid what against your ratio.
A ledger, not a bank. Money only ever moves between your own accounts.
Rent, groceries, the electric bill? Joint. Your sneaker order? Personal. PairPot sorts as things arrive and learns from every swipe in your Review inbox.
Your partner sees Joint spends and their own Personal ones. Never yours. Want to be open? Share one monthly total: no merchants, no line items.
Changing the ratio or the monthly budget needs you both to sign with Face ID. No sneaky edits, no rewriting history. It starts from the next cycle.
Left-over money rolls into joint savings, split by your ratio. Overspent? Savings cover it first, then it carries into next month. Nothing quietly disappears.
Month end, PairPot shows who owes who, then hands you off to your own payment app with the amount filled in: a Venmo, PayPal or Cash App link. You pay each other directly; PairPot is never part of the payment and never receives the money. Prefer another way? Just mark it settled.
Spot creeping subscriptions, see how the month’s going, get a weekly recap. PairPot does the numbers; AI only helps say it nicely, on your device by default. Budgeting insight, never investment advice.

Privacy promise
Privacy isn’t a toggle buried in settings. It’s how PairPot is built. Same couple, same month, two different views:

Enforced at the data level, not just hidden in the app. Sharing a monthly total is opt-in and shows one number.
You connect through Plaid or Apple’s on-device FinanceKit, which hold your consent, or you import a statement that’s read on your own device. Your transactions live on your device; our servers keep only encrypted Plaid access tokens, account details and sync markers.
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not ever. No third-party ad networks live in PairPot. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
PairPot isn’t a bank or wallet. When you settle up, you pay each other through your own bank or payment app.

FAQ
Straight answers, including the awkward ones. Still curious? Say hi at hello@pairpot.app.
No. PairPot never holds, moves or touches your money. The “pot” is a shared ledger: a smart record of who paid what. Your money stays in your own bank accounts, and when you settle up we hand you off to your own bank or payment app, so you pay each other directly. PairPot is never a party to the payment and never receives funds.
Sometimes, and we’ll be upfront about how. On Duo and Duo+ you may see Perks: native cards from partner brands. Every one is labelled Ad · Sponsored by and the brand’s name, with “Why this?” and “Hide” right on the card.
They never appear in your spending lists, your pot numbers, month-end close, settle up, PairKey flows, onboarding or the paywall. There are no third-party ad networks or ad SDKs in PairPot: Perks come from our own catalog, which your phone downloads in bulk and ranks on the device using coarse signals (like “groceries is your top category”). So no personal data, and no transaction data, goes to advertisers. Duo Max is completely ad-free.
No. They see all Joint spends and their own Personal ones, never yours. If you want to be open, you can switch on “Share my personal total” to show a single monthly number: no merchants, no line items. It’s off by default.
Never. In the US you connect through Plaid or Apple’s on-device FinanceKit, which hold your consent. Or you import a statement (CSV or OFX) that’s read on your own device, or add spends by hand. Our servers keep only encrypted Plaid access tokens, account details and sync markers, never your login or your transaction history. You can revoke access any time.
Nope, and that’s the point. The ratio and monthly budget only change when you both approve with PairKey (Face ID or Touch ID). New settings start from your next cycle, never retroactively, and proposals expire after 7 days.
PairPot works out who owes who, then hands you off to your own payment app with the amount filled in: a Venmo, PayPal or Cash App link, if your partner has saved a handle. Or just “mark as settled”. You pay each other directly: PairPot is never a party to the payment and never receives the money. (Households that use INR also get UPI links.)
Either of you can unlink. Your personal data stays yours and is never shown to your ex-partner. Any unsettled balance is shown so you can sort out the last settling up. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
No. PairPot’s insights are about budgeting, like “dining out is up this month”. We don’t give investment, credit or tax advice.
By default, on your device. Insights use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models, and nothing is sent to a cloud AI provider today. The numbers themselves are always calculated by PairPot, and AI only helps phrase them.
We’re launching in the United States first, on iPhone and Mac, with Android later. Join the waitlist and tell us where you are so we know where to go next.
Yes. PairPot works fully anywhere, with one difference: live bank connections are US-only at launch. Elsewhere you import statements (CSV or OFX from your bank or other money apps) or add spends manually. The pot, the ratio, PairKey and monthly close all work the same. Tell us where you are on the waitlist so we know where to connect next.
Every plan has a 14-day free trial. During the trial you can import statements and add spends by hand, so you get the full pot, splits and Review from day one. Live bank connections switch on when your paid plan starts. One subscription covers both of you and is billed through the App Store. Cancel any time from your store settings.
